Make America decent again




“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.-- That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”


Those are the words in the USA Constitution of 1776. The values of which that country have lived to be great and respected throughout the world, as well as a friend of numerous nations. But what has happened?

The first president George Washington was inaugurated on April 30, 1789, taking the oath of office atFederal Hall in New York City. Since then many great leaders have taken office, and put America´s best foot forward.

In all fairness, I could not spontaneously name all the presidents in order- how about you? So, not only was this a fun exercise in finding motivating quotes from USA´s leaders, but also a good lesson in history:


George Washington (1789-1797): "Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company”

John Adams (1797-1801): “To be good, and to do good, is all we have to do.”

Andrew Jackson (1829-1837): “Any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes right, but it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error.”

Millard Fillmore (1850-1853): "An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory."

Franklin D. Roosevelt (1933-1945): “Men are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds.”

Ronald Reagan (1981-1989):”Mr. Gorbachev, Tear down this wall”


Those were words, which shall never be forgotten. And what do we hear today:

Donald Trump (2016-hopefully 2020): 'I’m intelligent. Some people would say I’m very, very, very intelligent.” , (On Puerto Rico) 'This is an island surrounded by water, big water, ocean water. "Something very important, and indeed society-changing, may come out of the Ebola epidemic that will be a very good thing: NO SHAKING HANDS!'


What went wrong USA? why did people vote for this person? The founding fathers must spinning in their graves. George Washington was a war hero, so was Andrew Jackson. Lincoln freed the slaves and brought the union closer together, in spite of regional and demographical differences. Kennedy made us believe in hope and care. Clinton and Obama were more hope and good times, and brought country and people closer together. YES they could! - and NOW:


A President, who storms out of the room, when he is contradicted, threatens to shut down everything, if he does not get his will. A president, whose mantra is: “rule by fear”. A president who has alienated the USA to the world, who is no longer certain to be our friend.

“America first” – America alone.


WAKE up USA! You deserve better: a unifier, not a divider. a friend of the world, not a foe . a

Negotiator, not self-absorbed dictator.

WAKE up America, for the people´s sake, for the country´s sake, for the world´s sake.
